Meet The Doctors
Dr. Waller is a native of Evansville, Indiana. He attended medical school at Indiana University and completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His residencies in general surgery and colorectal surgery were in Michigan at Butterworth Hospital and Ferguson Hospital respectively. Dr. Waller is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
In 1986, Dr. Waller joined Dr. Krystosek in practice at OVCRS. Outside the office, he enjoys playing ice hockey and softball.
Dr. Smith was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Chemistry at St. Vincent College, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He attended medical school at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine at the Hershey Medical Center. He completed general surgery residencies at Wilford Hall Medical Center, U.S.A.F. in San Antonio, Texas and at Wright-Patterson Medical Center USAF/ Wright State University in Dayton Ohio. He also completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
In 2001, Dr. Smith joined OVCRS after 11 years in the USAF Medical Corps including 5 years as Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Wright-Patterson Medical Center. Dr. Smith enjoys golfing and other outdoor sports and activities.
Dr. Chilukuri was born in India. He later moved to Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from the University of Kentucky with honors. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. His general surgery residency was completed at Michigan State University, and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Chilukuri is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Chilukuri entered private practice in Louisville in 1993. He acted as a consulting colorectal surgeon for Global Hospital in Hyderabad, India for three years prior to joining OVCRS in 2003. Dr. Chilukuri enjoys playing golf and traveling.
Originally from Spain, Dr. Arruffat graduated from St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York. He graduated from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His general surgery residencies were completed at Lincoln Mental and Medical Health Center in Bronx, New York, Waterbury Hospital Health Center in Waterbury, CT. His colon and rectal surgery fellowship was done at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH. Dr. Arruffat is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
In 2006, Dr. Arruffat joined OVCRS. He is Bi-lingual (English & Spanish). In his spare time he enjoys soccer and playing the guitar.
